Devereaux, Kuhner & Co. LLP is looking for an Associate Accountant to join our firm in our San Francisco office.

We are looking for someone who can thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven work environment.  Ideal applicants will have a well-rounded knowledge of accounting and tax principles, the required units to sit for the CPA exam, and are progressing towards obtaining CPA licensure.  Applicants must also be committed to offering clients the highest level of service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Preparation of individual, corporate, partnership and trust tax returns

-Assist managers and seniors in calculating estimated tax liabilities on a periodic basis.

-Gain proficiency in standard tax software such as Prosystems tax, BNA, CCH Engagement, and Quickbooks.

-Organization of client workpapers and spreadsheets.

-Work effectively with team members

-Manage time and projects efficiently.

-Maintain consistent communication of project updates and status with managers and seniors.

-Great attitude and eagerness to learn.

Requirements:

-Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college/university

-CPA license or progress toward CPA licensure

-Internship experience a plus

-Experience and Proficiency in Microsoft office applications – Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint. Strong Excel skill is recommended

-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with managers and senior group.

-Highly motivated individual with ability to work independently, is well organized, and detailed oriented.

-Demonstrates ability to consistently meet and exceed assigned targets and deadlines.

This position is full time with mandatory overtime hours during our two busy seasons (February 15- April 15 and Aug 15- October 15).
